We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join us at INSHUR; we are based in London and sunny Brighton (sea, chips and seagulls included) and our company embraces a hybrid working model, allowing you to thrive in both collaborative office settings and the comfort of your own home. You’ll have the opportunity to work remotely while also connecting with your colleagues in person at least two days a week, primarily in London with the occasional Brighton visit, fostering a dynamic and supportive environment.
You’ll be working on re-inventing insurance in exciting markets across multiple territories including the UK, US and the Netherlands, and new European countries as we expand.
You will be joining a cross functional team who believe in using the power of data to unlock the untold opportunities it can present for the business to grow.

What you'll do
As the Lead Data Engineer you will be responsible for mentoring and managing the Data Engineers and shaping how we deliver the data models for our business. Working in a cross functional agile team to build the ETL pipelines you will be using your technical expertise to deliver the models alongside the other engineers. You will also work closely with the Data Analysts and other data consumers to identify roadmap deliverables. You will be working predominantly in BigQuery and Dataform. Responsible also for the enforcement of data quality standards for the accuracy and completeness of our data.
We do not have a definite checklist of skills - our hiring process is much more about aptitude and passion than ticking boxes. So don’t worry if you’ve not used a particular tool or checked off all the listed skills and experience.
