About Qumis
Qumis is building the AI-native platform for insurance knowledge work. We help insurance professionals understand and act on complex insurance policies faster, with more confidence, and with less friction. Our customers are brokers, claims teams, and underwriters who use Qumis to analyze, compare, and generate insights from complex insurance contracts—at the speed of thought.
We’re backed by top-tier venture funds and growing fast. This is an opportunity to join as a foundational team member and shape the internal systems, automations, and operational backbone of a company redefining an industry.
The Role
We’re looking for a Founding Operations & Automation Lead to build and own the core systems and processes that keep Qumis running. You’ll handle critical internal operations—information security, company admin, vendor management, compliance—and layer in AI-native workflows and internal tooling to scale us far beyond human speed.
You’ll work directly with the CEO and cross-functionally across the business to design systems, eliminate inefficiencies, and turn chaos into clarity.
This is not a traditional ops role. We’re looking for someone who asks:
“How can we automate this?”
“Where can AI or internal tooling replace manual work?”
“What’s the system we need in place so this scales as we grow 10x?”
What You’ll Do
As a single-digit hire at Qumis, you’ll have massive scope and impact. You’ll build the internal OS of a modern AI company—one that’s scaling fast, serving high-trust enterprise customers, and disrupting one of the world’s largest industries. You’ll be the go-to person for making the company more efficient, more automated, and more powerful every single day.
Why Join Qumis
We offer a comprehensive benefits package so you can choose what’s best for you and your family. Our benefits include:

What You’ll Do
- Own internal operations: vendor management, SOC 2 compliance, HR/payroll systems, contract organization, benefits setup, IT/security workflows, etc.
- Be the AI-native leverage layer across the business: build internal automations using Zapier, Retool, OpenAI, Airtable, and other tools to streamline day-to-day execution
- Stand up and maintain key business systems and documentation (e.g. Notion, GDrive, Slack integrations, knowledge bases)
- Lead special projects to unblock the team—everything from spinning up dashboards to coordinating external consultants
- Build internal processes that scale us without needing more headcount
- Be the “systems brain” of the company: help us build smart infrastructure for a high-velocity future
- You’ve done this before (or something close): 2–6 years of experience in operations, business systems, internal tools, or automation roles at a high-growth startup
- You’re a systems thinker and relentless executor—you don’t just get it done, you get it done faster and better than expected
- You’re AI- and tooling-savvy: maybe you’re not an engineer, but you’re dangerous with Zapier, Notion, Airtable, Retool, GPT prompts, and browser extensions
- You have excellent judgment and can handle sensitive internal work with discretion and trust
- You thrive in ambiguity and know how to turn a half-baked idea into a working system
- You’re obsessed with efficiency, automation, and the inner workings of fast-moving companies
- Bonus: experience with SOC 2, compliance, or startup finance ops
